Meet Jenika!

My name is Jenika Weaver I am in eighth grade. I was born in March of 2005. I love the outdoors. I hunt, hike, snowboard, snowmobile, dirt bike, water ski, camp, fish, kayak and do as much as I can as often as I can outdoors. I have four siblings and we keep our amazing parents on their toes. I play a lot of sports. I play basketball, golf, softball, and soccer. I love to be active and healthy. I have made many of my best memories outside. I’ve only been hunting for two years with my own tag but my parents have been taking me out hunting with them since I was 8! I love to go hunting. I would hunt every day…

Hank Patterson

So a lot of you know that our grandma died not very long ago from breast cancer. She didn’t love to fish like we do but she loved being outdoors and her thing was birds. All of the cousins called her a bird nerd. So when we heard there was a fund raiser for Reel Recovery that helps cancer patients we wanted to go. When we heard it was to honor Reese Fergeson who is an actor that is on Hank Patterson’s video we really wanted to go. He was incredible but left us also too soon from cancer. First of all we want to tell you if you have never seen Reese and Hank then you need to youtube or order some of their…

AFFTA

We were so lucky that we got to go to AFFTA this year. It was in Bozeman Montana October 16-19. Me and my brothers got to meet some really awesome people and got to watch the new Confluence Film called Providence. It was so cool watching it because I have met Camille who is a star in this movie. I met her at the Go Pro Games this past spring. She did sooo good in the film and caught some great fish. If you don’t know what AFFTA is it stands for American Fly Fishing Trade Association. Everyone there loves fly fishing and so we thought it was great that we got to be in the middle of it. We even were able to do…

Zombie Fishing 2015

Our 222 event in October of this year (2015) was ZOMBIE FISHING and it turned out awesome. With the help of Utah DWR and Farmington City and much more, we were able to hold a fun event for close to 300 people. Kids and thier parents or grandparents came out and had their faces painted as Zombies and then got to enter a fishing derby for some really epic OUTDOOR PRIZES! KLS Outdoors featured this day on their show that aired on Halloween Night and the show turned out great. We have been asked to make this a yearly fall event and hold a second one a bit further south. A huge thanks to Cabelas for providing lunch to everyone. Thank you to Get Your…

Trout in the classroom – Jan. 3, 2016

By Cameron – Me and my brothers are the youth coordinators for the Weber Basin Trout Unlimited. Trout Unlimited has a awesome program that puts fish tanks in school classrooms so that the kids can learn all about all about trout fish. They get to see them hatch and watch them grow. We get to go in and teach the kids about the fish eco system and then when the fish grow big enough we take the fish and the kids to a river and let them go into the river. Then we teach the kids about the river and what helps the fish to live the best way in it. We put a tank in a school just before Christmas. We will be putting…

ICE FISHING 222 EVENT

We had a great ice fishing event on Feb. 8th at Pineview. By early afternoon, around 100 people were out in the snow bearing the sometimes windy weather. We were sad that not many fish were caught but a lot of kids who had never experienced Ice fishing said they had fun and wanted to go again. We want to really thank CABELA’s for sending Daniel to help. He was really great and we can’t wait to fish with him again. Also thank you for the new poles we were all able to use. We had guests show up that were glad they were there. Also thank you KAMIK for the donating our great prizes . . . . family packs of KAMIK boots. They…

WE WANT YOUR VIDEO GAMES

Everywhere we go, we offer our Video Game Exchange. If kids come to one of our events or to any where we are working, they can bring us their used video games and turn them in and promise instead to get outdoors more, they get to put their name in raffle to win great outdoor gear that has been donated to us by companies that also want to see the kids having fun in nature. We have some great companies sponsoring this exhange! When we gather a large amount of video games we take them to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City for the kids that can not get outdoors to be able to play while they are healing. Primary Children’s said they go…
